McLaren 750S JC96: A Japan-Only Supercar Honoring Racing Heritage
McLaren celebrates its history in the Japanese market with an exclusive 750S series.
McLaren just made waves in the automotive world with the debut of the 750S JC96, a limited-edition supercar built exclusively for Japan. This marks the first time McLaren has created a model solely for the Japanese market, and only 61 examples will be produced, reflecting the race number of the F1 GTR that clinched the 1996 All Japan Grand Touring Car Championship. Available as both a coupe and Spider, the JC96 combines motorsport DNA with bespoke craftsmanship from McLaren Special Operations (MSO), making it a collector’s dream and a sincere tribute to McLaren’s deep racing roots in Japan.

The JC96 draws inspiration from the legendary McLaren F1 GTRs that competed in the 1996 JGTC, particularly the Team Goh car shared by John Nielsen and David Brabham. With its iconic “Tiger Stripe” Rocket Pink and Tarmac Grey livery, that car went on to secure the Driver’s Championship. The JC96 celebrates that success, translating the spirit of 1990s endurance racing into a modern road-going supercar. Customers can even order a hand-painted “JC96 Tribute Livery” by MSO, strictly limited to just four cars, a direct link between past motorsport heroes and McLaren’s modern marvels.

Visually, the 750S JC96 sets itself apart with details that pay homage to its motorsport roots. It debuts the MSO High Downforce Kit (HDK), now available on the Spider for the first time, featuring a reworked front bumper, dual-element splitter, louvered underbody, and raised active rear spoiler. Together, they generate up to 10% more downforce. New 15-spoke ultra-lightweight forged alloy wheels, inspired by F1 GTR Longtails, pair with F1 Gold calipers wearing red McLaren logos. Customers can choose their own body color and match it with special JC96 paint accents on the mirrors, splitter, and wing endplates in Memphis Red, Titanium Silver, Ice White, or Graphite Grey.

Inside, the JC96 channels the cockpit of the F1 GTR while maintaining McLaren’s signature lightweight, driver-focused DNA. Buyers get three Alcantara Performance interior options, each accented with JC96 logos embroidered on the headrests and armrests. Gold-finished pedals, switches, and dedication plaques recognize the race-winning cars while adding a touch of exclusivity. Even the paddle shifters and steering clasp receive bespoke finishes. For those wanting to go deeper, MSO offers bespoke interior livery packs and painted key options, making each JC96 as personal as it is historic.

Underneath the exclusivity, the JC96 retains the heart of the 750S, a mid-mounted 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8, delivering 740 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. Paired with the carbon fiber Monocage II chassis and Proactive Chassis Control III suspension, the JC96 is one of the lightest and most agile supercars in its class. For track drivers, optional Pirelli P ZERO Corsa and Trofeo R tires unlock the 750S’ true potential.
Exclusivity is the name of the game with the McLaren 750S JC96. Only 61 units will ever be built, all destined for Japanese customers. With motorsport heritage, bespoke detailing, and cutting-edge McLaren performance, the JC96 is a rolling celebration of McLaren’s racing history in Japan.

SVE Teases Manual YENKO/SC® Supercharged Silverado Truck

A 1,000-horsepower, manual Silverado is coming and it’s not a concept. The unreleased 1000HP (6.2L) YENKO/SC® Supercharged Silverado Manual 6-Speed by Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE) starts with a bare-bones 2026 Silverado W/T ordered 2WD, Regular (Short) Cab, Regular/Standard bed (avg. $36,950) and layers on the YENKO/SC® package ($89,995) for a sleeper that’s anything but subtle.
Underneath, the YENKO/SC® houses a 6.2-liter aluminum-block V8 with forged internals, a high-output supercharger with high-flow cooling, Boost-By-Wire™ control, and an 8-rib drive; calibration is available for 91 or 93 octane. It exhales through a stainless cat-back dual exhaust, reins in speed with YENKO-badged 6-piston Brembo fronts and 16.1-inch rotors, and sits right thanks to a 2″/5″ lowering setup with Fox® performance shocks. 22×10 forged wheels (multiple finishes) wrapped in Nitto performance tires, a heavy-duty rear sway bar, and traction bars round out the stance—finished with YENKO/SC® cresting and optional side-stripe colors to taste. (Note: package is not emissions-legal in California; built for sanctioned motorsports.)
Think of it as a factory-fresh canvas turned road-weapon with a warranty to match: 3-year/36,000-mile coverage on the engine/supercharger and non-powertrain components, plus an available order pathway through authorized GM dealers (deposit required). If you’re picturing a stealthy Regular Cab, short-bed in White, Black, Red, or Gray with a 6-speed and four figures of horsepower, you’re on the right track. Full specs, options, and timing to follow—this one’s worth circling on your calendar.

2026 Nissan Z Heritage Edition With 300ZX-Inspired Design Cues Joins The Lineup
in Nissan

Midnight Purple has a cult following among the Nissan faithful. The color first gained fame on the R34 Skyline GT-R, and it shifts between purple, blue, and green depending on the way the light hits the paint. The shade became a symbol of Japan’s tuner era, and Nissan later revived it for special versions of the now-discontinued R35 GT-R. Offering it on the Z ties together two of the company’s most iconic nameplates, while also giving today’s buyers access to a finish once reserved for limited-production halo cars.
Nissan has incorporated several heritage-inspired elements throughout the 2026 model lineup, with the hood bulge referencing the original Z, the elongated taillights, and the blacked-out rear panel being a throwback to the 300ZX. Even the triple gauge cluster on the dashboard is a deliberate nod to past models, but in this case, it shows turbo boost, turbine speed, and battery voltage.

Clearly, then, Nissan is deliberately tapping into nostalgia while giving you a modern sports car that you can daily. The standard Performance trim already includes heated leather-appointed seats, a Bose audio system, sport pedals, and a mechanical, limited-slip differential. The Heritage Edition builds on this, turning your Nissan Z into a standout model without altering the drivetrain.
Speaking of performance, all Z models pack a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 rated at 400 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. You can choose a six-speed manual or a nine-speed auto with paddle shifters. That choice alone makes the Z one of the few sports cars that still caters to manual enthusiasts. A stick will also join the top-spec NISMO variant, which packs 420 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque. Wider wheels on stickier tires, and a suspension tuned for track work.
At just under $56k, the Heritage Edition sits in a sweet spot between attainable sports car models like the Toyota GR Supra, the Ford Mustang, which recently received its own retro Fox Body-inspired FX Package, and higher-end offerings such as the soon to be phased out gas-powered Porsche 718 Cayman. If you want a car that blends history with modern technology, the 2026 Nissan Z Heritage Edition is worth serious consideration. Question is, would you pay extra for nostalgia, or would you stick with the standard Z Performance?

Q by Aston Martin Marks 60 Years of Volante With Ultra-Exclusive Anniversary Editions
in Aston Martin News, Vanquish

We recently had the chance to sample the standard version of the 2026 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante, and that car set a very high bar for what an open-air Aston should be. The 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 was explosive when pushed, yet refined enough to make long-distance driving surprisingly approachable, reminding us that Aston Martin hasn’t lost touch of the grand touring formula.
That firsthand experience puts the spotlight on Aston Martin’s latest unveiling. To celebrate 60 years of the Volante name, the company’s bespoke division, Q by Aston Martin, has created not one, but two ultra-exclusive 60th Anniversary Editions. One is based on the Vanquish, the other on the DB12. Each will be limited to just 60 units worldwide and represent the highest level of performance, craftsmanship, and collectability Aston Martin has ever offered in its convertible lineup.

Driving the standard V12-powered Vanquish Volante revealed how Aston Martin blends brute force with everyday usability. The 60th Anniversary Edition takes that foundation and elevates it, because Q by Aston Martin has pushed the twin-turbo V12 to 835 horsepower and 737 pound-feet of torque, with 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and a top speed good for 214 mph.
Those figures make it the fastest and most powerful production convertible in the British marque’s history, also outpacing rivals like the Lamborghini Huracán Evo Spyder. Throw in bespoke bronze detailing, tri-tone interiors, and strictly limited numbers, and the Vanquish Volante 60th Anniversary Edition has the hallmarks of an instant collectible.
While the Vanquish caters to purists seeking peak performance, the DB12 Volante further balances that aforementioned everyday usability with Aston Martin’s super tourer credentials. Under the hood sits a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, still good for an impressive 671 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. That’s enough for 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and a 202 mph top speed.

With a 2+2 layout, the DB12 Volante is versatile enough for longer trips, yet it still delivers the performance to rival cars like the latest 992.2 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet, unveiled this past weekend. It pairs luxury ride quality with the ability to devour miles at speed, making it the more approachable of the two Anniversary Editions. Q’s exquisite bespoke finishes ensure it is no less exclusive, with the same bronze-accented design language and handcrafted interior treatments seen on the Vanquish Volante.
Both Anniversary Editions also feature Q Pentland Green paint with a matching Westminster Green fabric roof. Anodized bronze accents extend from the vaned grille to the 21-inch satin bronze wheels, side strakes, and interior touchpoints; speaking of which, the interior features tri-tone leathers in Centenary Saddle Tan, Ivory, and Woven finishes, which pair with Dark Walnut veneers. Embroidered 60th Anniversary logos and etched seatbacks highlight the commemorative theme of these special builds.

Beyond the aesthetics, though, Q by Aston Martin of course, allows for near-limitless personalization. You can work with the team to tailor finishes, materials, and even components. No two cars need be identical, which only amplifies their appeal to collectors who prize individuality alongside exclusivity.
Now, let’s talk about the significance of the Volante lineage. It comes from Italian, meaning “flying,” and Aston Martin first used it in 1965 for the Short Chassis Volante, a model bridging the DB5 and DB6. Only 37 examples were ever built, and today they can sell for more than $1.5 million at auction, often double the price of a comparable DB5 coupe. That rare debut set the tone for six decades of open-air Astons that combined elegance with performance.
Noteworthy examples followed. The DB6 Volante gained fame when Prince Charles received one as a birthday gift, the same one that he later converted to run on bioethanol. The V8 Volante of the 1970s and 1980s was a showcase of luxury and excess of its era, while in the 2000s, the DB9 and DBS Volante modernized the concept. At auction, Volante models often carry a 20 to 40 percent premium over their coupe counterparts.

Collectors gravitate toward Volantes precisely because of this very pattern. Early DB6s, Short Chassis Volantes, and special editions like the coachbuilt Vantage Volante Zagato are already considered blue-chip investments, while even contemporary DBS Superleggera Volantes are starting to hold firm against depreciation. All this in a year where Aston is celebrating 75 years in the Americas, scarcity and desirability continue to drive premiums, and the 60th Anniversary Editions have been built in. With only 60 examples of each model, these cars are engineered to be cultural milestones and guaranteed collector’s assets.
Aston Martin could have simply added badges and new paint to mark 60 years of Volante. Instead, it created two of the most powerful, refined, and exclusive convertibles in its history. For enthusiasts, the Anniversary Editions represent the ultimate expression of open-air Aston driving. For collectors, they are investments destined to appreciate as the Volante story continues to unfold.
